Tallawong metro station, right at the suburb's edge, brings a steady flow of commuters parking nearby before catching a train into Sydney CBD. Cars left in these areas for a full work day are more exposed to the kind of unattended knock that never gets reported by whoever caused it.

Because The Ponds was built out almost entirely after 2007, its residential streets are laid out to a modern subdivision pattern — narrower carriageways, shorter driveways and closely spaced houses.
